Why LEGO fanatics took over Bristol Galleries shopping center today
Thousands of LEGO fanatics flocked to Bristol city center today as a major event unfolded at a shopping center.
The Galleries shopping center has been transformed into a mini LEGO Land as a special themed event started today (Saturday, August 21).
The event behind the takeover was The Brick Show, a weekend minifigure celebration with displays from worlds such as Star Wars, DC and Marvel, Minecraft, RC cars, and the incredible Great Ball Contraptions.

The event was hosted by Bristol-based LEGO company GertLUG and the exhibit includes Lego games that visitors can participate in.
A LEGO creation of a jungle and railroad tracks was on display while children and adults could play with the minifigures.
Emily Poole from GertLUG says, “We are so excited to showcase the incredible work of over 30 contributors to The Brick Show.
“The event is completely free and visitors can explore the many exhibits that will be held in the galleries.”
David Wait, Center Director at The Galleries, says: “We’ve probably all played with LEGO at some point in our lives, but GertLUG really opened my eyes to the incredible creativity of local enthusiasts.
“We can’t wait for them to take over The Galleries and hopefully inspire a new generation of LEGO builders! “
The Brick Show will be in the galleries from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 21 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 22.
