Small Business Spotlight: Fun City Trampoline Park

NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) – Families may have reason to jump for joy now that there’s a newer addition to New Britain: the Fun City Trampoline Park!

“Definitely the community is pretty welcoming I mean a lot of people come here they say you know what there’s nothing else for kids in New Britain so there was the Flight Trampoline Park, unfortunately it’s closed, so it’s really the only children’s recreation center, so they let us know that we’re just happy to have a place where the kids can come in, let that energy out, be safe and have a good time,” said Naylea Blanco, General Manager.

Blanco said things were starting to look up, but Fun City opened just before the pandemic hit, which was tough on business.

“I mean it’s okay, it’s definitely, we really struggle in the summer season, you know it’s hotter, there’s a lot more things to do outside, but we provide a nice cool facility for the kids to get in,” says Blanco.

Not just kids, teens and adults too.

There are more than your basic trampolines.

“Our bubble park is quite popular, especially with teenagers. It’s a place to let out their aggression and you know, have a good time. You just go out there and run over each other,” Blanco said.

There is a great trampoline where more experienced people can do tricks and flips.

There is also a dodgeball court, a basketball court and a rock wall with a foam pit.

“We have a ropes course. It is a two level ropes course. It’s good. We have a toddler section for the bottom half, younger ones can go there, anyone over 42″ is welcome to go up top. There are a lot of hurdles to overcome,” Blanco said.

The little ones can hang out in the giant Lego area or in the ball pit.

Their parents might even relax.

“Some toddlers, I know they’re full of energy, the parents come in, sit on the massage chairs for two hours and just let the kids run around and watch the kids and they have a great time,” Blanco said.

Blanco said they throw more than 25 Fun City parties in one weekend.

You can pack food and make a day out of it. All you need are non-slip socks to stay safe.
