Ocean Independence’s epic 236ft superyacht has three massive pools – Robb Report
Ocean Independence’s newest superyacht concept lives up to its name. The epic ship spans approximately 236 feet and is filled to the brim with pinch-ready amenities.
Luxury yachting specialists have once again teamed up with designers Christopher Seymour and Carl Esch for the exterior of the Vast 72, which is characterized by clean, sinuous lines. The hull, which will be forged of steel, features a low profile design and an inverted bow to increase efficiency and seakeeping capabilities.
The interiors, meanwhile, were directed by another of the company’s favorite collaborators. Theodoros Fotiadis. While the design team used a number of Art Deco patterns, the final look synthesizes a variety of architectural styles.
The layout includes six spacious cabins that can accommodate 12 sailors, as well as accommodation for 15 crew members. Located on the main deck, the full-width owner’s suite features two walk-in closets, a private office, and port and starboard balconies.
On board, you’ll be pampered by an array of luxury amenities, including a gym, helipad and no less than three swimming pools. There is also a beach club with a bar and a swim platform that offers direct access to the ocean. Elsewhere, the ship’s generous garage offers ample room for two tenders, two RIBs, four jet skis, and all your favorite water toys.
As for power, Ocean Independence has not listed an exact propulsion configuration, although it does claim that the Vast 72 will have a cruising speed of 14 knots and a top speed of 18 knots.
Although a builder has not yet been confirmed, the ship is expected to take around 48 months to materialize in a northern European shipyard and could set sail as early as 2023. This dream team marine has already worked on the 360-foot Century X concept mega-yacht, scheduled for delivery in 2024.
Pricing for the Vast 72 is available on request, but you should expect the sum to be, well, vast.
