Northeast Ohio pools and water parks open this summer

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Many cities have chosen not to open their swimming pools amid the coronavirus pandemic. As the temperatures heat up, here are a few pools and water parks in Northeast Ohio where you can cool off.
Keep in mind that the ability to adhere to Ohio Department of Health protocols will be limited. Some places require reservations.

Open water parks:
North Lawrence Water Park is open to campers only for swimming, paddleboarding, and canoeing.
Great Wolf Lodge
Open from June 26. Social distancing will be applied. Surfaces will be cleaned with a hospital grade disinfectant. The water park also strives to minimize contact with the surface.
Sandusky’s water park has hand sanitizer everywhere and asked guests to maintain social distancing between other groups. EPA approved chemicals are used and safety protocols meet or exceed industry standards. Chairs and lounge chairs will be disinfected frequently.
Open every day in Chardon. Some slides will remain closed.
Water hole at Monsoon Lagoon
Located in Port Clinton. Tickets purchased online are not valid for that day and must be printed. Employees will not be able to access customer phones. Rates may change depending on occupancy.
Open swimming pools in the city:
The Akron Pools at Reservoir Park in Goodyear Heights and Perkins Park in West Akron opened on July 1. Its wading pools at Joy Park in East Akron and Patterson Park in North Hill are also now open. You need to sign up for a free membership to go there.
The Anna Schmauch Memorial Pool is open from June 15 to August 16 from noon to 7 p.m. It has a maximum capacity of 100 people.
Capacity will be limited. Guests will be escorted to their assigned areas.
Becks Pool in Madison Park and Foster Pool in Lakewood Park will open on July 1.
The civic center swimming pool is open every day until August 15 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Available only to Mentor residents. Maximum capacity of 300 people. The obstacle course, climbing wall, paddling pool and paddling pool are not available. Morton Pool, Garfield Pool and the Walsh Park Spashground are closed for the season.
The city of Parma will open its Splash Pad on July 1st.
Hours of operation are 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday to Saturday.
It is only open to residents of Parma and is free.
Masks are not mandatory for guests but encouraged.
The municipal outdoor swimming pool is open to residents of Rocky River and online registration is strongly encouraged.
Twinsburg Waterpark is open to guests with a reserved time slot. The water slide and the other elements remain closed.
The Westlake Aquatic Center and Peterson Pool are open to pool members and Westlake residents online. Reservations are encouraged. Bring your own chair.
