Model Train Show at Nanaimo’s Beban Park Station – Nanaimo News Bulletin

All aboard for this year’s Nanaimo Model Train Show.
The annual event returns on Sunday, May 1 to its favorite venue inside the Beban Park social center.
“We have a record number of tables and every table is full,” said Chris Sundstrom, one of the event organizers.
A relatively smaller outdoor show took place last summer, but now that people are more comfortable gathering together, organizers are hoping for a good turnout for this year’s event.
There will be private and commercial sellers up and down the island and Lower Mainland, Sundstrom said. The Saanich Historical Artifacts Society plans to display larger scale railroad cars, and some of the other exhibitors include the BC Forest Discovery Center, the BC Railway Historical Association, the National Model Railroad Association, and users of Mid -Island Lego. Group.
“We have another layout that’s deliberately set up so kids have the ability to operate, and we have a bunch of more detailed layouts that are on display,” Sundstrom said.
