LEGO Batman sets offer better insight into character designs
Bat fans should be pumped this week, as a first look at the new trailer for The batman is expected to debut at the DC FanDome. But before that, there are a few new details on display in the official LEGO sets from the movie. From the minifigs, we get an idea of the costumes of Selina Kyle, Oswald Cobblepot, Riddler, Commissioner Gordon, Alfred, and a pre-Batman Bruce Wayne officially dubbed The Drifter. In these The Batman LEGO sets, Riddler clearly wears a green vest and mask, while Selina’s motorcycle bodysuit has the makings of a future cat outfit.
Three of the sets come with minifigs. A $ 14.99 motorcycle chase set includes Batman and Selina on their respective two-wheelers. A $ 29.99 Batmobile also includes Penguin with a rocket launcher. And the $ 79.99 Batcave features tracks on which to store the Batmobile, the assembly of moving computers, and several characters, located in an old rail tunnel.
For those more inclined towards building rather than playing games, a $ 99.99 Technic Batmobile is also coming soon. Pre-order directly from LEGO.com or other outlets for November delivery.
So far, it looks like only Batman will be donning a comic book-style costume for most of the film, with his opponents perhaps getting closer to those looks in the end. As with Christopher Nolan’s films, there seems to be a tangible real-world aesthetic at play here. Take a closer look in the gallery below to find out more.
