Helena is a big fan of ice baths. “Freezing your ass is beneficial,” she captioned a recent Instagram post. I’ll do 20 minutes and then I die. I also don’t do the long, methodical 40-lap swimming routines. I want to be in the ‘ocean fighting the waves, not being in the pool looking at the clock and only seven minutes have passed when I’m already exhausted.’
Helena encourages outdoor exercise. “I think it’s important to shake it up and do as many different forms of training as possible, but also incorporate nature into it,” she told the Daily mail. “Swimming in the ocean, swimming in rivers, swimming in lakes. Hiking, trekking, chopping wood – that’s the best way to train, because it doesn’t really feel like training. You feel like you’re alive.”
Helena is one of the many stars who go Zen. “It took me years to get into yoga because I wasn’t into anything spiritual. I didn’t want to go to a class and have to sing, although I know it helps so many people . I finally found a place to fit in, and I ended up leaving fully recharged and sweaty,” she told Harper’s Bazaar.
You won’t find Helena following a restrictive, fad diet. “I’m not the kind of person who limits myself to just any type of food,” she said. Seduce. “I couldn’t live without bread and pasta. But there are other ways to find your stillness,” she told Allure. “Sometimes I do it while organizing or cleaning. I recently picked up the piano, and it’s a really good way to be in a quiet zone on my own and use my mind in a different way. It’s my form of meditation. The key is to find what works for you.”
Helena argues that getting enough sleep is the key to good health. “I really feel better when I’ve slept well,” she told Harper’s Bazaar UK. “It’s my number one priority. I actually think it’s the number one priority for most people. It just changes your whole day – when you haven’t had enough sleep and also when you have.”
