Welcome to Toy Aisle, io9’s most fun regular roundup, and sometimes the weirdest way to spend your money on the internet. This week, Lego turns to Marvel for its cutest new set, Hasbro teases what comes from its Obi Wan Kenobi merch, and…well, did you ever need more encouragement for good bathroom etiquette? Check it out!

Lego Marvel The Infinity Saga AIMr Groot

Last week was devoted to star wars reveals then let’s start with the new baby Groot to build from Lego of his “let’s remember the good times of the MCU” Infinity Saga line. The 476-piece model represents nearly 11 inches tall with plenty of joints to pose and includes a standing nameplate that simply repeats “I am Groot” over and over – lovely attention to detail. But the reason why we will lose $55 on this set (available for pre-order now but not shipping until August 1st) is the equally adorable and surprisingly accurate Lego Audio Cassette that’s also included.

G/O Media may receive a commission

Hasbro Transformers Generations Legacy Voyager Autobot Blaster & Eject

For kids in the 80s who grew up in strict homes where “evil” Decepticon toys weren’t allowed, which meant Soundwave was unreachable, Blaster was a passable consolation prize. at Hasbro Transformers Generations Legacy Voyager Autobot Blaster features the same red, yellow and gray boombox design as the original, except kids and collectors must follow 20 steps to transform it into a robot. The real appeal of Soundwave and Blaster was the transformative cassette tapes that hitchhiked inside each bot’s chest, and the new $34 version of Blaster, available for pre-order now on the Hasbro Pulse website, includes a bot called Eject that still turns into a tape, albeit with a modernized design. Maybe a flash drive would have been a better choice?

Lego Art The Rolling Stones

Lego is now determined to fill not only collectors’ shelves, but every last empty space on their walls with its Art line, with mosaic versions of Batman, youhe Beatles, and beyond. The latest addition sticks to the theme of the iconic music group with a summer leisurethe Rolling Stones logo. Unlike previous Lego Art releases, this 1,998-piece set skips the rectangular frame to a shape corresponding to the iconic symbol, although we’re not 100% convinced of the varying thickness of its black border. I cannot get any satisfaction from this design here. The $150 set will be available starting August 1, but isn’t up for pre-order yet.

Hasbro The Black Series Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Elite Force FX Obi-Wan Lightsaber and Darth Vader Electronic Helmet

A new star wars the show is on the way, and force once Hasbro decided to tease at least some merchandise before it is released! Apart from the “wandering jedi” Obi-Wan Kenobi action figure us seen earlier this week, Hasbro also took advantage of a new trailer for the upcoming Ewan McGregor series to tease not one, but two roles-items to play. The first is a light-up Force FX lightsaber, based on the design used by Obi-Wan in the series, which is, for all intents and purposes, his blade from the last two prequels and A new hope, but a little sturdier than the first as it’s been hidden on its own or in its stuff on Tatooine for 10 years by the time the show begins. The saber includes a small stand to display the hilt in the same style as previous Force FX sabers, and a removable blade that, of course, lights up blue when activated, playing all the proper lightsaber sounds.

Vader’s Helmet, meanwhile, is an updated reissue of one of the first Black Series LARP helmets, featuring adjustments to the head and neck of the helmet as well as deco accurate to its appearance in the upcoming series. In addition to producing sound effects, the helmet is designed as a three-piece assembly, connected by magnets, so fans can separate the neck, face shield and upper part of the helmet individually, for ease of wearing. and pretending to be sitting in his own meditation chamber getting ready to choke an officer or two. Both items are currently set to be published from here January 1st, 2023 according to Hasbro, but given the current pandemic-related shipping issues, it’s likely they could arrive later only that. Jhey are both available for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse, with the Force FX Lightsaber costing $279 and the Vader Helmet $132.

Hot Wheels Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham RC Rolling Chair

Extreme athletes like skateboarder Tony Hawk have their likenesses and branding on toys and video games, and now it’s the turn of Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham, an athlete who performs incredible tricks and aerial feats adapted from skateboarding and BMX on horseback but in his wheelchair. At age 14, Fotheringham was the first person to perform a wheelchair backflip, which is just one of the stunts kids can attempt to pull off with this new $50 Aaron “Wheelz” RC toy from Hot Wheels. This includes a ramp as well as a wireless controller that can activate a “wheelie boost” feature for a top speed of over 6 MPH.

Lego The Infinity Saga Iron Man Armory

If Lego’s new Iron Man Armory sound set The Infinity Saga line looks oddly familiar to you, that’s because just two years ago Lego released its original Iron Man Armory set, who is now retired. the the new version is almost twice as big as the previous one—496 coins versus 258. Available from June 1 for $90, the new armory includes a sportier sports car, plus eight total MCU minifigures: the MK3, MK25 and MK85 Iron Man suits, plus Stark, Pepper, Fury, War Machine and Whiplash.

FUYU Velociraptor Toilet Paper Holder

We’re not completely exhausted Jurassic World Dominion merchandise again because it’s impossible to hate dinosaurs. But of all the tie-in movies flooding online stores, including those loosely affiliated with the franchise, this one velociraptor toilet paper holder certainly ranks among the most disturbing. For $30 you get a amazingly detailed sculpture of the raptor with a nice paint job, but we can’t imagine falling into the bathroom in the middle of the night and not being terrified of the big yellow raptor eyes staring at us once we turn on the lights. Maybe save this one for the dedicated ones Jurassic fans who like to hang their TP the wrong way.

Lego City Stuntz Tub Stunt Bike

We’re not ashamed to admit that we have a soft spot for the Stuntz toys recently added to Lego’s City range. Small flywheel motorcycles just need a few spins on the ground to start and take off with impressive speed when launched. Take a few ramps and you’ve got a good hour of fun, and the line is made even more enjoyable with the unique characters on each bike. New Sudsy Simon tub runner is easily the best of the bunch, racing in a literal tub with a snorkel and a rubber ducky. The life jacket won’t do much to prevent road rage, but we like the commitment to the bit. Arrives August 1 for $8.
